These Biscuits are super easy, super, fast and super yummy! They make any meal special.
Oven Temp: 425°
Makes about 12-14 biscuits
2 Cups Self-Rising Flour
½ Cup cold butter, (no substitutions)
1 Cup Buttermilk
Measure the 2 cups of Self-Rising flour into a medium bowl. Cut the butter into small chunks and add to the flour. Using you hands, rub the butter into the flour until the mixture resemble coarse meal. Using a fork stir the buttermilk into the flour mixture, mixing until just combined. Turn dough out onto a floured board and with floured hands knead three to four times.
Roll or pat dough out to a ½ inch thickness. Using a medium sized biscuit cutter, cut out biscuits. Repeat with remaining dough. Place biscuits on a lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake biscuits for 12-14 minutes in a 425° oven. Remove biscuits from the oven when they are puffed and slightly golden brown. Place warm biscuits in a basket or bowl wrapped loosely in a clean linen towel. Serve warm with butter, honey, jelly, and fruit preserves. These will make your family so happy!
