Burst Forth!

Hello Precious One!

Small groups are more important than ever! Members reinvigorate each other. People are more isolated than ever and computers and apps do not make up for the warmth and connection of human relationships. There is a synergy that takes place in your small groups that you will never get anywhere else. Look at the number of times God spells out in the Bible the importance of meeting together!

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

Hebrews 10:23-25

This Scripture specifically mentions keeping one another stirred up to do love and good works and giving encouragement by meeting together! God spelled it out because He knows the temptation mankind constantly struggles with to “go it alone, do it myself. [or] pick myself up and do this.”

So what tempts us away from doing the obvious, helpful good for ourselves and others? In order to overcome the temptation not to start or join a group, it helps to know what is going on.

The darkside is the prince of immediacy, but he is also the prince of tomorrow. Immediacy for the temptation of “now”- not to start a group, but for food! But the darkside also encourages, “Oh,…..I’ll do it later….” Then his other famous technique, “I want to do it myself and show others how much it works.” Or lastly he tries to thwart groups by, “I worry about the cost.” Worry about the “cost” of not starting.

These are all temptations from the enemy to thwart God’s plan. The plan God has to help you overcome and burst forth! God has great plans for you! He wants to help you achieve health and peace. He doesn’t want something like food, causing you to feel out of control. The only protection from all this is to be humble and go forward like a little child, in faith and obedience. Step out, because God needs you to allow Him to help you and others through this program. Spread His light – now!
