Losing Faith Is Bad For You

Did you know that losing your faith is actually bad for you?

Penn State University researchers found that losing faith in God had a negative impact on an individual’s health. In addition the Penn State study found when people left a religion with strict boundaries (such as Catholicism), it caused them to use and increase smoking and drinking as coping mechanisms. Those who lost faith in God were also more susceptible to negativity and stress, which went on to impact their health negatively.

This is so interesting given the war on faith in God in our culture! It is truly sobering when you reflect on all the damage that has been done because people have lost their faith in God! Protecting your faith in God is one of the best things you can do for your mental, physical, spiritual and eternal health! One of the reasons for this is our faith in God affects His ability to help us. God shows us this in Matthew 13:57-58,

“And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, ‘A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house.’ And he did not do many works there, because of their unbelief.”

We must set our faces in flint to always have faith in God and we must not be lax or slothful in the practice of our Faith. Light Weigh and Light Weigh One King feed your Catholic faith and help you deepen your relationship with Jesus Christ.

If you have suffered something that is causing you to want to lose faith in God, know that God has a plan for you and wants to help and heal you! Losing faith in God is the worst thing you could do for yourself. Hang in there and cry out to God because He wants you to turn to Him! Always remember that no one gets away with anything – if someone has hurt or injured you, they will answer to God and possibly pay for all eternity. God is loving - but God is also just. Rest in the love and care Jesus has for you. Never give up on God because He never gives up on you!

“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me; when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13
