Losing Faith Is Bad For You
Did you know that losing your faith is actually bad for you?
Penn State University researchers found that losing faith in God had a negative impact on an individual’s health. In addition the Penn State study found when people left a religion with strict boundaries (such as Catholicism), it caused them to use and increase smoking and drinking as coping mechanisms. Those who lost faith in God were also more susceptible to negativity and stress, which went on to impact their health negatively.
This is so interesting given the war on faith in God in our culture! It is truly sobering when you reflect on all the damage that has been done because people have lost their faith in God! One of the reasons for this is our faith in God affects His ability to help us. God shows us this in Matthew 13:57-58,
“And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, ‘A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house.’ And he did not do many works there, because of their unbelief.”
